ABOUT THIS SITE
Welcome to NHHighway.com. I started this site in 2007 to bring more information about the roads and
highways of the Granite State. Though New Hampshire is a small state, it has a lot of interesting stretches of
road. This site explores the 5 Interstate Highways, 3 Turnpikes, 6 US Routes and over 100 state routes that
make up the highway system of New Hampshire.

I have enjoyed puting this site together and I've learned a lot about this state I call home. A lot of information
here was compiled by either reasearch, both online and the old fashioned way, or site visits, which to me is
the most fun. I have not driven all the routes in here, but I have driven most, including all of the grade
seperated highways in the state.

Use of the route shields (Interstate, US, State or County) and state image is released to the public domain
and free to be reproduced. These shields were obtained from www.wikipedia.com and have previously been
released to the public domain by the creator.

The exit listings and route logs are copyrighted. Permission to use may be requested by e-mailing me at

Information on the highways is based on standard observations and/or the state/federal DOT/Transportation
website, unless otherwise noted. Route lenghts are from federal and/or state websites or by doing
measurements using Google Maps. The only exception to this is the lenghts for complete lengths of US
Routes, which came from www.us-highways.com.
NOTE ABOUT THE NEW HAMPSHIRE & EVERETT TURNPIKES
In this site I have included shields for the New Hampshire Turnpike on the guide signs. I feel that, as the
state's first highway, it should be referred to and signed as such on the actual road, much like it is on the
Everett (see below) and Spaulding Turnpikes. Even though every attempt was made to make the signs as
realistic as possible, I chose to include the shields even though they are no longer is use.

The turnpike also carries the designation of Blue Star Turnpike. My recommendation to the State of New
Hampshire would be to bring back the NH Turnpike shield and at both termini of the turnpike include signs
that say "Welcome to the New Hampshire Turnpike: A Blue Star Memorial Highway".

As for the Everett Turnpike, the state also neglects to sign the turnpike north of the I-93/I-293 Interchange in
Hooksett. I believe the road should be signed as the Everett Turnpike up to Route 9 (Exit 14) in Concord. As
with the New Hampshire Turnpike, I have included shields for the Everett Turnpike up to the northern terminus
in Concord.
